TO : Clark Hansen, CEO of AMDP FROM : Jake Weissfeld, Research and Development DATE : June 30, 2021 SUBJECT : Eco-Products Proposal   Hello Mr. Hansen! There is an eco-friendly company called Eco-Products that has really intrigued me. Below is an analysis of the company and if it would be worth it to invest in. AMDP ·        Triple Bottom Line ·        Corporate Social Responsibility ·        Social Enterprise ·        Carbon Footprint Triple Bottom Line ·        People ·        Planet ·        Profit The Triple Bottom Line is a term used to describe a holistic way of using a business. In society, many companies are only fixated on generating the most profit. However, the companies that make the world a better place are focused on being socially,...

As the basketball playoffs are intensifying, I would like to give a breakdown of where the teams currently stand and what my predictions for the future will be. To recap, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Atlanta Hawks are playing in the Eastern Conference Finals and the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns are playing in the Western Conference Finals. Last round, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Nets (the favorite to win the championship) in a gritty series that went all 7 games. The Atlanta Hawks, the lowest-seeded team remaining, stunned the 76ers by defeating them in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Milwaukee Bucks are the clear favorites up 2-1 in the series with 2-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, all-star Khris Middleton, and their new addition Jrue Holiday. However, you can never count out the Atlanta Hawks after the way they have been playing all playoffs. Coming into the season, the Hawks were not even expected to make the playoffs. They have talent, but most of their players ...

Book 1 Post 2

Gloria Steinem’s “My Life on the Road” is a culmination of stories dealing with many different topics about Steinem’s travels throughout her life. As a child, Steinem’s father emphasized the importance of traveling, and every fall after school was out, they would always go on a new trip. Traveling continued to be a major part of Steinem’s life even into adulthood. Traveling is viewed as essential to the Steinem family because it teaches experiential lessons, and one learns a lot about other people and gains unique perspectives. As mentioned in an interview about the book I saw on YouTube, Gloria Steinem views all humans as special and unique, and we all have something we can learn from each other. What makes each human unique is our hereditary and environmental makeup which means the more we meet new people, the more we understand life overall.   There are two stories from the book that I would like to share. The first is about the sexism that was rooted in the airline industry...

Why the Lakers Lost the 2021 Season An Analysis of the 2021 Lakers Watching the final seconds of the Lakers 2021 season come off the clock in a 113-100 blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns was absolutely humiliating. In those seconds, the season flashed before my eyes and I thought to myself, “Where did we go wrong?” The Lakers just won the championship last year and this year truly felt like they had all the makings to repeat as champions. However, as I began to backtrack and reflect upon the season, it became increasingly obvious why this season was very different from the last. There are three clear reasons why the Lakers did not win the championship this year: 1.   Free Agency 2. Injuries 3. Better Competition   Free Agency The Lakers had two major free agency acquisitions last offseason. The first was Montrezl Harrell. Harrell was fresh off a Sixth Man of the Year Award and many felt he brought the energy and toughness to propel the Lakers to make a deep run in ...

Book 1 Post 1

The book that I chose to read is My Life on the Road by Gloria Steinem. The reason I chose this book is that my mom and sister are both into women's activism. They always encourage me to educate myself and read more about the feminist movement and they are both familiar with Gloria Steinem because she is a feminist icon. The story is about Steinem's development as a woman. Throughout her life, she was always traveling and has many anecdotal stories that she shares on the road. These stories range from funny and lighthearted to serious and meaningful. All these experiences shaped her to be who she is today. As she grew older, she became involved in activism and politics all over the world. I am very glad I chose this book and I am excited to share my findings with the class.

2 - Job Description

Jake Weissfeld Professor Hansen WRIT 340 1 June 2021 2 - Job Description Background Every summer from my Sophomore to Senior Year of High School, I have worked as a counselor at the Chaminade Center for Excellence Summer Program. The program is located at Chaminade College Preparatory High School, which is where I attended all four years of high school. The program is designed for students in elementary school.   The summer program has two sectors: one is academic and the other is for athletics. I spent most of my time as a counselor working for the academic program and specifically in the STEAM department. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. The purpose of the academic program is for students to continue to learn after the school year is over and help students discover their academic passions. The program allows students to get more in-depth knowledge that they would not have the chance to get inside the classroom.   Re...
